Pets As Listeners
P.A.L. program, stands for Pets As Listeners. In this free program, Renee from Pet Therapy of the Ozarks brings in her cute little dog named Missy. Children sit and read as Missy sits by quietly listening. Similar programs in other states have seen students who are reading below grade level raise their competency to at or above grade level. Children are more comfortable reading to a pet who never makes fun of them, never corrects them, and always enjoys the time spent together.
Please call or sign up ( Dates & Registration ) if you wish to attend. If no one is signed up on a date that day's program may be cancelled. We don't want Pet Therapy of the Ozarks to make an unneccessary trip from Springfield.
Programs are generally the second and fourth Mondays from 4:00 - 5:00pm but you need to check the schedule and register.
Programs may be cancelled at times due to bad weather.
